I say doctors are NOT evil! Too bad if you disagree!
My last post got some people angry. But then that's what I was hearing day in day out from awfully nasty patients for more than a year! The area where I worked was filled with such people.
My father told me that I should not trivialise what I do. Although what I do at work may seem simple and trivial to me. They are things that only a doctor is authorized to do. So we should still be paid for the services we render even if it seems simple.
It's the same for lawyers. Many of the checks they run are performed by clerks but the lawyer signs off and charges a lawyer fee. But he takes responsibility.
So for those people who say doctors are evil and should be as poor as the man next door, sorry for you.
I will continue to do my best for my patients and not let such comments bother me so much.
As it is the places where I am working now have MUCH MUCH nicer people. The group I work with also has very good packages for patients that represent excellent value for money!
I have little to complain about :)

I think the stereotype of doctors as being greedy money-grubbing sleazebags is a common myth that not only has been perpetrated by the media today, but has its roots in age-old jealousy and distrust of the profession by common folk worried of doctors' powers to hurt them.
people should be taught that doctors are actually quite nice people. and humans too. and if we happen to be rich, they should spend a day in the shoes of any doctor in a government hospital. when they stagger home at the end of a 36-hour day stinking of human waste, I think they'll have revised their opinions of doctors somewhat.

To be frank I think most people don't give a damn!
There's no point telling them that cos the reply would always be that they too work very hard and long hours and also go home stinking after 48 hours shifts yada yada yada yada.....
Everyone thinks their job is the worst in the world.
These are the negative people who complain about everything and think that the world sucks and that everyone else sucks as well. Their only consolation is that Jesus did say in the Beatitudes :"Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted"
I've learnt to dissociate myself from negativity.No point chasing lost causes. I'm not Jesus Christ! Although some people think doctors should be....that's another story...
